Recruiting
I would love to have a few more Buddhist/Libertarian writers to go in on a group blog with me. Check out my posts on the connection between libertarianism and Buddhism, a Buddhist view of forgiveness, and blind patriotism to get a feel for what I'm looking for.
Peace.

Just heard about your blog from freeman. I'd be happy to join a group blog about libertarianism and Buddhism. (I blog at upaya.blogspot.com)
I'd be willing to contribute as well. I may be a spiritual mutt, but Buddhist philosophy has been influential to me over the years.
I totally like the idea of merging Buddhist philosophy and libertarian philosophy, not that there's much merging to do. I guess just associating the two as being complementary to each other is something that is much needed, especially since so many Buddhists are socialist in their thinking (although I even know a couple of Republican Buddhists - yikes!).
I remember finding an interview awhile back in I believe it was Tricycle magazine with Dennis Kucinich, a democratic socialist who calls himself a Democrat (kinda like how a libertarian like Ron Paul calls himself a Republican), and it was pretty clear that they equated Kucinich with enlightened politics. He may have some ideas that are more enlightened than those of your typical Republicrat, but he still has a lot of brutality disguised as compassion in his agenda.
Sounds great. I'll need both of your e-mail adresses to add you to the authors list. Send them to me at

I'm libertarian, and I sympathize with a lot of Buddhist positions, but I don't agree with Buddhist politics at all. When they start talking about how bad capitalism is and how we should all live in communities, that's the cue to run away.
I am a libertarian, influenced in my youth by the Randians, but I am more of an anarchist than an objectivist. B.A. in philosophy. Taught history & philosophy for 10 years at high school level. My Buddhism has been Beat Zen for 30 years, but now I also study Theravada & early Buddhism. Buddhism & libertarianism can fit together well. I am new to blogging. Can you tell me how a group blog works?
"Can you tell me how a group blog works?"
Some of my favorite group blogs are blog.lewrockwell.com and www.catallarchy.net. I suggest you go to both websites to see how they run.
In essence, having more than one author allows a blog to update more frequently and to feature more diverse content.
If you would like to blog with me, send me your email address and I will talk to you about coming on board as an author.
